WHY TO MEASURE IOP (INTRAOCULAR PRESSURE)?

High IOP is commonly linked with glaucoma. High eye pressure alone does not cause glaucoma, but is a significant risk factor. Glaucoma is a chronic disease which can’t be cured, but the progress can be stopped or slowed down by decreasing the eye pressure. To follow up and control the treatment, the IOP needs to be monitored continuously, in some cases several times per day.
